Quirky Colin

Colin's personality is really developing. He is hilarious, a GIGANTIC flirt, even more so than Adam was, which was also extremely impressive, and he's deviously mischievous in a way that sucks you in. When he stares at you, you get pulled into a pool of deep grayish-green eyes and you may very well wonder if he's hypnotizing you.

Vrrrooooooooooooooom.

Colin's cool with wearing the same shirt as his big brother.

Colin also does not like to sleep until at least 11 o'clock, when he's completely positive that nobody is going to do anything else interesting for the day. Once he's asleep, he's a heavy sleeper, but it's like trying to convince a bird to swim to get him to go down. As in, he's fairly certain it's a bad idea.

While Claire is a grabber-toucher kind of baby, Colin is a watcher-copier little guy. He watches until he gets it, and then when he thinks he has it down, he does it pretty easily. He adores Adam and watches his every move, and he's extremely intelligent in many ways, but especially socially. He loves to touch people's faces and has a hearty little laugh. He's also extremely, extremely verbal, but when I have tried to get video he tends to get a little camera-shy.

He's already starting to hold his arms up when he wants to be picked up (which is always), and when I give him a kiss on the cheek, he grins, grabs my cheeks and give me a big open-mouthed kiss right back. He loves his sister but is starting to be very opinionated about who should be held (him), and when (all the time).
Mad because Claire is getting held instead of him.

I love hanging out with this little guy. He's smart, hilarious, and a great conversationalist.

Clever Claire

Claire is pretty quick with the sign language our nanny has been teaching them! (Sorry about the yelling in the background by her older brother). Here she is signing "milk":

I hear that she is also starting to sign "more," but I haven't seen it yet.

I also wish that I had video of our dinner at the table earlier in the week, where Adam was banging on the table in an attempt to startle Claire, who was grinning bigger than ever at him. He threw his head back and whined melodramatically, "I. Can't. Scare. Claaaaaaire!" And then he half cried in frustration.

Nope. This girl is a tough cookie, the easiest baby I know, and always a treat. She is the only one who will really let us rock her to sleep and she's typically out after two minutes. She's smart, funny, and the whole package. She's 7 months old but really needs to be wearing 12 month old stuff because she's so tall and has long arms (jealous!) I love this little girl.
