Spring 2018

Claire's Tonsilectomy
At the beginning of this year, Claire had to have her tonsils out as well as new ear tubes and she needed to have an infection cleared out in her adenoids. For her pre-surgery meal, she asked for Salmon and broccoli, her favorite meal.

I took her to Rockfish, where she is famous there for being able to demolish a full adult portion of Salmon and veggies and then ask for ice cream for dessert. They love her there, and she fits right in.

In the hospital before surgery she was nervous, but still in good spirits. She was still talking to me but was too shy to talk to the doctors or nurses. She did great though.

The first day she felt great, and ate a strict diet of veggie soup and ice cream. However, by day two she was over the whole ordeal, missed her brothers, was mad at me, and basically told me it was all my fault.

This was the last picture of her smiling for about 10 days.

Grandpa visited and came to take the boys for a visit at Mamie and Grandpa's house so Claire could heal in peace for that first weekend.

On the final day that she recovered she got to go to a swim party for her friend Ellie.  She wasn't quite "back to normal," but she got some of her fire back in her.
