The Frank Buck Zoo

Based on a recommendation from a friend, I decided one Friday morning when we woke up that it would be a good morning to drive out to the Gainesville zoo. It was perfect for me alone with the kids (I took them to Ft. Worth Zoo by myself, and they were great, but it's a little big for them to really explore comfortably). They are getting so big, and truthfully Colin is the biggest animal lover of all... but has a tendency to go rogue while tossing me the deuces sign and exiting without care, so he often gets strapped into the stroller just so we can keep moving. Adam was the same way... hopefully he'll grow out of it eventually.

The truth is it was a really fun day, and they didn't mind the hour drive.

I literally would drive back there again just so they can feed and pet the goats again. They LOVED it.

checking out the bear.

it started to get hot and they were ready for food. Colin hates shoes.

This is the face of a girl who just that second noticed there was a monkey in front of her.

Second to the goats, Claire enjoyed the gift shop.

he's such a trooper

That evening it was Adam's turn to spend the night at Mamie and Grandpa's house. He got to have some alone time with them, help Mamie in the garden (loves that), and then go to the Aquarium the next morning. My parents have been taking one kid a piece for the night every other weekend or so to get some one on one time, and I know the kids are really benefitting from it. (Today Colin was chattering away on a toy phone and I told him to say hi to whoever he was talking to. He told me it was Mamie.)

We take pictures EVERY. DAY. (Part 3)
