2 Years Old; 2 Birthday Parties (Part 2)

On Adam's actual birthday, we relaxed (well, Adam relaxed, I sat on the couch, and Shannon cleaned). Eli ("cat") woke us all up at about 6 am because his food bowl was empty, and then once he was fed, he gave Adam a bright idea about how best to brush your teeth and entertain yourself.
Hey, CAT, you're kind of a genius.

After playing in the sink, Adam chose to watch Sesame Street with a banana. After I handed him the banana, he quickly left the room and came back with his Cars hat on backwards and pulling his wagon behind him. Then he crawled in and watched his show in his diaper. Now THAT'S enjoying your birthday.

Adam ate McAlister's Mac and Cheese (his favorite) and then took a good long nap. When he woke up he got ready for family to come over to celebrate his birthday.

He's hydrating but has no idea why he's wearing sunscreen, his swim trunks or his swim shoes. He's waiting by the front door for Mamie and Grandpa and Robin.
Adam's "big" two year old present. He thought it was awesome.
After playing in the pool, we had pizza and he mingled very well... carrying his plate from the kitchen to the couch to his table to talk to everyone. After pizza, he opened presents and got shoes (his favorite!), clothes, LOTS of books, a binder with crayons and colored pencils and paper to do artwork, and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh DVD (which started an immediate adoration of Tigger).

Earlier in the week, Robin brought over her gift to Adam - a handmade, adorable Super Adam cape. To help Shannon and I out and to get some extra playtime with Adam, Robin has been coming over on Wednesday evenings. She has taught him valuable skills like how to make yourself dizzy in the backyard, how to be an airplane, and how to tie your blanket around you to be a cape. Since then, Adam is always looking for a cape, and now he has one. He loves it.

Super Adam (who is having a tough time separating from his paci lately).
He also got a Toy Story cake... and it seems the cake from the weekend prior prepared him for this moment, because when I brought it out, he got very excited and held out his arms to take it from me. When I didn't hand it over, he crawled up on his table to get closer and stretched his hands out further. Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures of that - we tried, but he was too fast.

He adores his Daddy.

All in all, it was a good day. We ate cake a little too late, he had a hard time sleeping that night, so we cuddled and watched Winnie the Pooh. It's good to be 2.
