October at the Arboretum

My new favorite
On Sunday my mom and I took Adam to the Arboretum for a walk and some pictures. Apparently if you want to go to the Dallas Arboretum in October you should get there the moment they open... we got there at 9:30 and the place was already milling with people... but it's a good thing we didn't get there even 20 minutes later. We managed to stay one step ahead of the HUGE crowd (and hung with the medium-sized crowd).

He was somewhat interested in the pumpkins and of course, tried to pick up the ones half his size. He ignored the small ones altogether, sped through the pumpkin houses, and was desperate - DESPERATE - to get on Cinderella's carriage. We didn't for two reasons: A) We knew he wouldn't be patient enough to stand in the long line, and B) Once on, I knew a meltdown would happen if we tried to pull him off.

So we took some pictures with the pumpkins, had a snack, and moved on to the fountain with the frogs, which turned out to be his favorite part of the day. He was asleep before we even got out of the parking lot, slept all the way home, and then napped for a full two hours after that. Arboretum = SUCCESS.

Taking a stroll...

Gotta hydrate.

It's okay Mom, I can handle this.

I'll take this one.

Adam's devious look. (We see this look a LOT).

Wading in the fountain.

He could have spent hours here.

It's a good thing it was over 80 degrees that day.

Look at my HUGE acorn!
