Sticky and Real: Decorating the Tree

Sometimes, it's the imperfect, sticky, messy, drooly ones that I am happiest to capture.

Decorating the tree started out quietly and I amazed that I had three little ones decorating the tree instead of pulling the ornaments off of it!

Claire took this one. My budding artist.

This look says: "Decorating the tree really isn't that fun with my two year old fingers and perfectionist brain."

"No really. Trees are stupid and this is hard."

But he really enjoyed himself.

And since Adam seemed to be having a good time... she tried really, REALLY hard.

Colin loved decorating the tree. When he realized how hard it was to hang ornaments, he stood back, grabbed them and started chunking them into the tree to see where they would stick.

So I tried to get them to take a picture together in front of the (half-decorated) tree. But sometimes... you know when you're out numbered and they are plotting against you...

The problem is, Colin thinks being a trouble maker is just too damn fun so it's hard not to smile.
 Plan B... Separate them.

DROOL. Lollipop drool.

Someday before Christmas we may finish decorating the tree. Maybe.

Surprise ending: 3/4 of these pictures (at the end) are taken when Colin has no pants on. We're potty training.
